MIA POKRIEFKA is a product leader who bridges
user needs and business goals,
fostering collaboration to create impactful experiences.

  • Hi, I’m Mia Pokriefka, a product leader and creative technologist with 10+ years building products from strategy to delivery, driving engagement, adoption, and scale

I’ve taken products from 0→1 MVPs to scaled systems. My through line: turning emerging technology into products people actually use, love, and return to.

As Head of Product at two venture-backed startups, I’ve led cross-functional teams, aligning engineering, data science, and creative to design intuitive systems and ship products used by global brands, NYT bestselling authors, mission-driven orgs, and influential creators. Earned recognition with a Shorty Award for innovation.

My experience has taught me to align user needs with business goals, building products that balance user delight with business growth.

As co-creator of MADWOMEN, I spotlight the strategic minds behind culture-defining products and campaigns, examining the product decisions, user insights, and market forces that shape what we see, share, and buy.

Fun fact: I experienced virality working on KONY 2012, which shaped how I think about technology’s power to spark action and build products people return to.

  • Born in Detroit. Came of age in Graz, Austria. Home base is in Los Angeles.

  • I’ve been at the forefront of emerging technology and digital innovation since 2017.

  • My first job out of college culminated with a viral YouTube video that garnered 120M views and generated $14M in just 6 days. I saw the impact of coupling engaging storytelling with innovations in technology to get people to take action. This became a driving force in my philosophy of innovation: If you create something that makes people feel something, chances are they’ll do something.

  • My anthropology background trained me to uncover the human needs behind behavior. Startups taught me to balance those needs with business goals, building products that serve both people and growth. Together? I define and build solutions for the real world, not just the roadmap.
